Madness: A Poem

Hi there! Please enjoy this poem that I wrote this afternoon from the inspiration “madness”.

There lies madness here,

In the corners of her eyes, that flare

With a controllable, self-inverted,

Understated rage,

The kind that lets the demons lose

From where they hide, somewhere

Down, deep inside,

In the shadows of her empty heart

There lurks a monster, only hers,

A personal hell inside, deep down,

Connected to her very soul,

And when she feels the ground begin to shake

She lets it out in regretted words, later

Remorseful a thousand times too many,

And too few.
