Hi there! Please enjoy this latest little poem of mine.
Some people are like cacti, thin
Spikes protruding, little
Thorns precluding any
Closeness.
Sometimes they hurt you when
You go to comfort them, and
you don’t understand why they
Don’t love you.
And yet, I know that
Cacti people are
Also lonely, and
Really,
It isn’t hard to get them
Out of their shell
(of thorns).
And if you stand by them when
They need you most, then
Their spiky demeanour
To your misdemeanours will
Soften.
And you will find that,
Underneath the cactus there is
Simply a flower;
Misunderstood.
Wow

So beautiful. Usually people are likened to a rose, but a cactus seems much more accurate! I love this poem!
