Abstraction: A Poem

Hi there! This is a poem which I wrote this afternoon, which I hope you enjoy.

What if, I ponder,

All these things I wonder, these

Distractions that reflect,

Refract, echo and contract

Like drops of water in a whirlwind that

Flings timbers to the sky, what if they

And I are linked forever in this dance of

The reduction of my production of concrete ideas,

Are these illusions simply

The product of my fears, that,

Thinking my creativity to be an easy target,

They take aim and disrupt until I

Sample my regret at ever having thought that I

Could get free of this fleeting of thoughts,

Disappearing before ever fully grasped,

Lost in the wind

Like dust

On a summers’ day.
