Bonfire: A Poem

Hi there! I got my results today and I made my university offer which I’m very happy about 🙂 I couldn’t think of writing a poem about it that didn’t sound cheesy, so here’s one on a completely unrelated topic which I hope you enjoy.

The past is a vastly different place,

One to which you can’t return,

And sometimes what you need to do

Is sit and watch it burn.

There’s no point constantly looking back

At all the mistakes you’ve made;

So turn yourself forward as the smoke turns black,

Walk out of the past and don’t look back,

And let the memories

Slowly fade.

Sometimes you must simply toast marshmallows on the flames of your failures.
