Bliss: A Poem

Hi there! I hope you enjoy this evening’s post, loosely inspired by Ursula Le Guin’s story ‘Paradises Lost,’ which I’m currently reading and enjoying immensely. I advise you all to read it! I’ve not read much Sci-Fi before, and I think it’s a genre that I should definitely explore…

Also, did you know that I’m on Twitter now? Give me a follow for updates on my writing life and how my blogging is going! My Twitter

As always, I appreciate feedback on my posts, so please leave any comments you might have down below, and feel free to share this post so that others can see it to!

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy.

What is this ship, the vessel of life

That journeys ever onwards out, into the void,

Into the nothing, the unknowable,

Towards the end; what is

The Destination at which we must arrive?

What would happen, if,

At this time of movement and of control, we were

To break free from the path through the darknesses; what would we find?

What lies beyond our horizons, beyond the corners

Of our eyes, behind the corners

We devise, the room, the walls we have created;

We are not a storm in a teacup, but the water in a teacup

In a storm; we know only the ripples of a single drop of rain,

And hear not the thunder

And see not the lightning,

But simply persist, and ride the waves until they settle

Into the unknowable

And the end;

What then?
