Evening Chirping: A Poem

Hi there! I hope you enjoy this short poem I wrote this evening.

Crickets chirp;

The woodland gives off a dissonant hum,

A slighting reverberation in the evening air,

Pitched just

A little too high,

For conscious hearing, and so,

Discomfort drifts,

Pricking up the hairs on the back of your neck

And you’re not sure why.
