I Cried for the Wind: A Poem

Hi there! This is poem I wrote recently which I hope you enjoy. In this piece I tried to concentrate on sounds and line breaks – do you think they worked? Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts!

I Cried for the Wind

Today, the wind told me
a secret in a breath
of air brushing past
my ear in a sinuous caress;
they told me of all
the places they had been and the things
that they had seen,
and I wondered
how they were still so weightless.
I wondered how they had not
grown heavy and dropped
like my heart grew heavy
and my tears fell
in silent mourning
for the wind.

What do you think of this poem? Do you love it? Hate it? Think it could be improved upon? Let me know in the comments! I would love to get more feedback on my work so please don’t be shy.
