Hi there! Please enjoy my latest poem. This one started with clouds and then moved onto doves and is absolutely nothing like I thought it would be originally. I hope you like it!

Of the Unreasonable Expectations Placed on Doves
I lay back in the water and watch the clouds pass overhead like doves, if doves were as peaceful as people thought they were, and never shat. If doves were as graceful or symbolic as people thought they were. They are only animals, and it is in their nature not to perform well at spectacles. I think I prefer clouds; there is no expectation on clouds to not ruin your wedding, for example. It is pretty much expected of them - I prefer the one that is treated with realistic expectations, and lives up to them. Doves are only bird brained after all. I lay back in the water and watch the clouds pass overhead, and I have nothing to think of, or do, or be, as if I were a dove, taking a break to be a cloud.
It was weird, but there you have it, and I hope you enjoyed it. If you did, please like and follow for more! You can also check out my Instagram here for writing prompts and blog posts.
If you have any feedback on this piece, please give me a comment as I am always trying to improve! Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope you have a lovely day.
